I am a professor of sociology at the University of California, Irvine.

I do research on globalization, political participation, education, environmentalism, economic growth, and economic inequality.

I teach classes about globalization, political sociology, sociology of education, institutional theory, and lots of courses on statistics for social scientists.

I organize the Irvine Comparative Sociology Workshop (ICSW).
