Family Communication Study

Do Parents Know Best? The Cultural and Familial Context of Young Adults’ Romantic Relationships

The Family Communication Study seeks to understand how parents and their young adult children communicate about young adults’ dating relationships and about parents’ reactions to their young adult children’s romantic relationships. We are interested in cultural similarities and variation in family communication, as well as the influences of parent opinion on young adults’ romantic relationships.
