Bardwell lab undergraduate Kiku Yoneda received TWO UC Irvine Chancellor’s Awards for the research she presented at the UCI UROP research symposium, one for her poster, and one for her oral presentation!  Great work Kiku!

Our latest paper,  The WW domain of IQGAP1 binds directly to the p110α catalytic subunit of PI 3-kinase , is now in press at Biochemical Journal.

A peptide version of IQGAP1’s WW domain has potent anti-tumor activity, and this study identifies a possible target: the catalytic subunit of  PI 3-kinase, a known driver oncogene, and one of the most frequently mutated genes in human cancer.

The study is a collaboration with the Fruman Lab.  Jane Bardwell is the lead author, and three Bardwell Lab undergraduates are also authors!
