Barty Group graduate student Leslie Heid has received an NSF GRFP Honorable Mention for her proposal titled “Laser Compton Scattering Cavity Optimization.” Leslie will be building and optimizing a laser recirculation cavity that she hopes will be used to improve the brightness of Laser-Compton Scattering (LCS) sources.
Her reviewers made very positive comments about her application: “This applicant has the trifecta of science skill, perseverance, and broader understanding that are what this program is looking for.” “Remarkable candidate!
