The end of Spring Quarter brought two important milestones to the lab. Raechel Hill defended her dissertation – From Human Threats to Human Solutions: Impacts of Freshwater Runoff Pollution on Rocky Shores and a New Approach to Training Environmental Problem Solvers – and is now Dr. Hill. Her dissertation cake (see below) featured a runoff stream, a pipe dripping polluted water, tide pools, and the green seaweed Ulva. And Beatriz Rios Rojas successfully presented her dissertation proposal and is now a Ph.D. Candidate! Well done, both!
