Teaching and Training Affiliated Programs Seminars and Colloquiums Students and Alumni Recruitment Funding Opportunities Our Pillars The growth of vision/eye research community and the support of the Department of Ophthalmology and the School of Medicine have led to the establishment of several pillars aimed at advancing the experience and careers of trainees engaged in vision and ophthalmology research. These include: the new NIH P30 Core Grant for Vision Research that received an excellent priority score of 23 and is expected to be funded in July of 2022. the new NIH T32 Training Grant was awarded in May 2022 and we are excited to sponsor graduate students funding for at least 2 pilot projects per year in the amount of $35,000 each. These pilot grants provide seed funding to help develop promising vision or eye research projects that can grow into externally funded research programs. supporting 4-5 undergraduate students over the summer in a laboratory conducting research related to vision or ophthalmology. supporting 2 postdoctoral scholars per year as part of the Beckman Fellows Program. a weekly research seminar series attended in person and remotely by 80-300 vision researchers from all over the country
