I am an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine, where I direct the Pervasive Autonomy Lab. Before joining UCI, I spent one year as a computational methods researcher at Janelia Research Campus, the main research campus for Howard Hughes Medical Institute. I received my Ph.D. from the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2018 with Prof. Mani Srivastava. My research goal is to weave human factors into the fabric of cyber-physical systems, focusing on performance, privacy, reliability, fairness, and adaptability. My research draws on tools from embedded systems, human modeling, machine learning, and mobile computing. I am the recipient of the MobiCom Best Paper Award and Best Community Paper Award. I received the Early Career Teaching Excellence Award from the UCI Samueli School of Engineering (SSoE) in 2023 and the Professor of the Year award from the Engineering Student Council (esc) in 2023. I am the recipient of the NSF CRII and the NSF CAREER awards.
