Fatih Erden, PhD
Assistant Professor of Electromagnetics
Fatih Erden received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Turkish Naval Academy (TNA), Istanbul. After graduating from the Turkish Naval Academy, he served on several Turkish Navy warships for 4 years as a Navy Officer until he received his M.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from the Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey. After getting his M.Sc. degree, Erden served on the Turkish Navy Guided Missile Test Station, in Istanbul, as a Test Officer, until he received his PhD degree from the same Institute.
Erden is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Turkish Naval Academy, with the rank of Navy Lieutenant Commander. He was on leave from Turkish Naval Academy for one year to work as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Professor Weng Cho Chew’s Group at the Computational Electromagnetics Laboratory of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Recently, he is collaborating with Professor Oleg A. Tretyakov from the Electronics Engineering Department of the Gebze Technical University, and with Professor Filippo Capolino from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department of University of California, Irvine (UCI).
His research interests include time-domain solution of electromagnetic fields with the Evolutionary Approach to Electromagnetics (EAE), and scattering problems. Erden is a member of IEEE.
