Our Nature Cancer metabolic heterogeneity paper is (finally!) out
We show that (1) metabolic subtypes exist within pancreatic tumors, (2) these populations exchange nutrients to support each other, (3) among these, asparagine can support mitochondrial metabolism, (4) degradation of asparagine enhances mitochondrial targeting, and (5) the differences in metabolism between clones are due to a constitutive vs. inducible stress response.
