Kei got the Whitehall Foundation research grant and Alzheimer’s Association grant. These grants will support projects on basic memory mechanisms and on gamma oscillations in AD, respectively.

Kei got the 2017 Mishima Kaiun Prize from Mishima Kaiun Foundation for his research in olfactory memory. Mishima Kaiun was a founder of Calpis Inc, a company known for Calpico. The prize is given to researchers investigating food sciences and olfactory/taste sciences. A diploma and 2 million yen was awarded.
Our first paper “Impaired in vivo gamma oscillations in the medial entorhinal cortex of knock-in Alzheimer model” is accepted in Frontiers!
The grant will be two years and support our Alzheimer’s project.
Travis and Ayushi were both appointed as UCI Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) fellows with UROP grants. Congratulations!!!
Kei got a grant from the Japanese government – the 4-year PRESTO grant for young researchers from Japan Science and Technology Agency.
