This Seminar series is supported by an Inspiration award funded by the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS) to explore “Career paths in Statistics”.

The goal of this monthly seminar is to give students the chance to hear from statisticians and biostatisticians who have a graduate degree in Statistics or Biostatistics and work in a wide array of professions, from academia to industry.

In these seminars, speakers may illustrate what are the different types of careers you could pursue with a graduate degree in Statistics or Biostatistics besides an academic job. They may discuss what their jobs actually entail, what type of skills are required and needed for their jobs, the projects and research they work on. They might even discuss how to apply for such jobs, in addition, to answer any other question/curiosity you might have.
