We are the Latina Perinatal Health Lab at the University of California, Irvine. We study the ways in which biological, psychological, and socio-cultural factors interact to influence women’s reproductive health. Our lab is especially interested in studying perinatal processes from preconception through the postpartum period among Latinas living in the U.S. We hope to use this information to improve the well-being of pregnant mothers and their babies. This lab is directed by Dr. Isabel Almeida, Assistant Professor of Chicano/Latino Studies at UCI.
