Translating research into practice to optimize maternal and child health and wellness.
Our lab is dedicated to discovering optimal approaches to enhance maternal well-being during pregnancy and beyond, and to generate new knowledge about the effects of prenatal processes on maternal and child health outcomes. Research studies involve behavioral interventions with pregnant women in order to improve maternal nutritional, metabolic, psychological, and physical health status. Current studies focus on the metabolic effects of the interplay between prenatal nutrition and stress after eating a meal, and the potential mental and physiological health benefits of mindfulness coaching in pregnancy.
