L. Robin Keller

L. Robin Keller was a full professor through Feb. 2022,  becoming a Professor Emerita as of March 2022,  of Operations and Decision Technologies at the Paul Merage School of Business, where she has served as the Director of the Doctoral Program  (1985-1986, 2009-2013).

She is a former Editor-in-Chief of Decision Analysis and she was the 2015 President of INFORMS, is an INFORMS Fellow, and received the Ramsey Medal in 2015 (for distinguished contributions to decision analysis, the highest award from the Decision Analysis Society of INFORMS, with Decision Analysis Society of INFORMS President Eric Bickel in photo below). She is a Fellow of the Society for Risk Analysis.

Key Research Areas

L. Robin Keller’s research focuses on developing techniques for analyzing decisions. Her decision analysis research spans the areas of multiple attribute decision making, fairness, perceived risk, and planning protection against terrorism, environmental, health, and safety risks.

L. Robin Keller, Professor Emerita (as of March 2022) of Operations and Decision Technologies in the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, joined UCI in 1982 after earning her M.B.A. and Ph.D. in management science from UCLA. She has served many roles in the school, including the Doctoral Program Director and Associate Dean (for the Full-time MBA Program and for Research). She was Program Director for the NSF Decision, Risk, and Management Science Program. Dr. Keller was the Editor-in-Chief of Decision Analysis from 2007-2012, a founding Director-at-large of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), TIMS Vice President-Finance and Council member, and Decision Analysis Society Chair. She became an INFORMS Fellow in 2004 and received the 2006 Kimball Medal. She was the 2014 President-elect, 2015 President, and 2016 Past President of INFORMS. She is the 2015 Ramsey Medalist (for distinguished contributions to decision analysis, the highest award from the Decision Analysis Society of INFORMS). She became a Fellow of the Society for Risk Analysis in 2023.
