ECHE 321 – Heat Flow Analysis: Theory of heat transmission; mechanism, generation, distribution, and measurement; use of theory in practical equipment design.
ECHE 574 – Combustion: Fundamentals and applications of combustion with a special focus on power generation and environmental combustion considerations.
MAE 91 – Introduction to Thermodynamics: Thermodynamic principles; open and closed systems representative of engineering problems; first and second laws of thermodynamics with applications to engineering systems and design.

ECHE 789 – Combustion: Fundamentals and applications of combustion with a special focus on power generation and environmental combustion considerations.
MAE 210 – Advanced Fundamentals of Combustion: Premixed, nonpremixed, and heterogeneous reactions, with emphasis on kinetics, thermal ignition, turbulent flame propagation, detonations, explosions, flammability limits, diffusion flame, quenching, flame stabilization, and particle and spray combustion.
MAE 215 – Advanced Combustion Technology: Pollutant formation and experimental methods. Formation of gaseous pollutants and soot; transformation and emission of fuel contaminants in gas, liquid, and solid fuel combustion; methods employed to measure velocity, turbulence intensity, temperature, composition, particle size; methods to visualize reacting flows.
