Welcome to the research group directed by University of California faculty member Dr. Pratik Shah that invents translational AI and biomedical technologies for discovery of novel biological mechanisms, diagnostic assays, and digital therapeutics.
Our research goal is to resolve distinct hypothesis driven questions including, for example, how to diagnose and treat disease at the cellular level, how to leverage causal relationships in big observational data for unbiased patient centered medicine, and how infectious microbes and host cells adapt during disease and therapy – under a single theoretical and methodological framework. The lab is motivated to invent pragmatic and equitable AI technology to translate medical images, genomic sequences and clinical data into digital diagnostics and therapeutics to improve health outcomes in the real-world.
