I am a Co-Investigator in the Consortium on Habitability and Atmospheres of M-dwarf Planets, or CHAMPs. CHAMPs is an interdisciplinary research team whose goal is to address the broad science question: Can M-dwarf planets support life, and if so, how do we best observe and characterize them?
I am involved primarily in Science Task 4 of CHAMPs, which is devoted to current and future efforts to detect potentially Earthlike and habitable planets orbiting nearby M stars. CHAMPs is a great opportunity to engage more deeply in my longstanding interest in detecting M dwarf exoplanets in the face of stellar magnetic activity.
You can find out more about CHAMPs on the team website.
