Sarah Elizabeth (SE) Stoeckl is a Digital Mental Health Specialist in the Technology and Mental Health (TEAM) Lab at the University of California, Irvine, working on the Help@Hand project. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychological & Brain Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis. SE is passionate about improving access, engagement, and outcomes of mental health interventions using technology. She is interested in the intersection of emotion regulation and digital mental health, especially in high-risk populations. SE plans to apply to Clinical Psychology PhD programs for Fall 2024. Prior to joining UC Irvine, SE contributed to research on digital mental health interventions for depression, anxiety, and emotional well-being at Twill Therapeutics. She also evaluated digital mental health apps and led analysis of app trends over time in the Division of Digital Psychiatry at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. While completing her BS, SE worked full-time as a clinical research coordinator and data coordinator at Washington University School of Medicine, gaining experience in studies using ambulatory assessments and wearables. She also completed independent study in the Emotion and Mental Health Lab, assisting with an Ecological Momentary Assessment study of social media use, emotions, and mental health. Outside of research, SE enjoys reading, hiking, and listening to podcasts or music– preferably with her dog by her side.
