Y. Anthony Chen (he/him) is a Postdoctoral Scholar at CERES, University of California, Irvine. He earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Communication Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Anthony’s research primarily focuses on understanding the processes and outcomes of social media use, particularly among adolescents and the LGBTQ+ community. His goal is to gather empirical evidence and scientific knowledge to enhance theoretical frameworks in interpersonal communication and media psychology, integrating insights from developmental psychology. Committed to fostering youth-centered designs, he emphasizes the importance of including voices often overlooked in our technologically mediated world. Beyond his research, Anthony indulges in exploring cooking/baking, often watching cooking videos on YouTube and bringing those recipes to life in his own kitchen.
