Liz visited Washington DC to participate in the symposium “The Power of Research: The Need for Gender Equity.” It was hosted by Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement (WAM, founded by Maria Shriver), the Society for Women’s Health Research, and the Cleveland Clinic. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden spoke about the White House’s initiative on women’s health. Liz spoke on her research, supported by WAM and UCI MIND, on changes in women’s brains during menopause, the relationship with spatial navigation, and using navigation as an early marker for Alzheimer’s Disease.
