Thomas Gross

Postdoctoral Researcher

Thomas Gross is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at the University of California, Irvine. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine in 2022. This dissertation research investigated small-molecule blood biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease as these differed according to genetic risk profiles and clinical staging. In the Stark lab, Thomas plans to use MRS to further characterize metabolic changes affecting the normally and abnormally aging human brain. He also develops postmortem MRI methods and hardware in support of the NIH-funded BRAIN Initiative Cell Atlas Network. Thomas enjoys making music and meditating in his free time.
