Wave gradient background

We are constantly looking for candidates at doctoral and post-doctoral levels who are excited to learn and contribute to better understand the principles of immune regulation at organismal, cellular, and molecular levels. In the long run, we aim to uncover new networks of immune regulation. These networks can be potentiated to treat neuroinflammatory/autoimmune disorders or modulated to effectively treat viral infections/ solid tumors.

Ph.D. Students: We are accepting graduate students rotations through the following gateway programs at UCI: Cellular and Molecular Biosciences (CMB) and Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program (INP)

Postdocs: Ph.D. with a strong publication record and background in Physiology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and/or Immunology; working knowledge/experience with Animal Models/Microscopy/Flow Cytometry/Bioinformatics is highly desirable. Please write to Dr. Shiva Othy (sothy@uci.edu) and include the following in the email.

•A cover letter/email describing your interest in joining our team.

•Curriculum Vitae with contact information of 3-4 references.

•A research statement (no more than 3 pages) describing your experience, accomplishments, and future goals.

Available positions are:

Graduate Student 1: Uncover tissue-specific mechanisms of immune cells in the CNS to prevent and treat autoinflammatory/neurodegenerative disorders (Neuroimmunology).

Graduate student 2: Decode mechanosensing in T lymphocytes to fight solid tumors and chronic inflammation (Mechanoimmunology)

Postdoctoral Researcher 1: Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Regulatory Immunity
