The public is welcome to take Kathleen’s Global Change Biology course on-line! It’s free– no strings attached.

In this class, students take a series of self-guided field trips to ecosystems of their choice. We provide resources to help the students learn about their ecosystem. The students then use this knowledge to take a series of actions to protect the environment:

Actions to reduce plastic pollution on our coast
Actions to protect local species for our climate
Actions to remove nitrogen pollution from our water
Actions to restore invaded ecosystems
Actions to take going forward

You can access the course here:

You can take as much or as little of it as you’d like– it’s all up to you.

Kathleen taught this class last quarter for non-science majors at UCI. Since we’ve already put the effort into video recording the lectures and posting the activities, we might as well make it available to the public. Please keep in mind that you won’t be able to access the Discussion boards and Quizzes, as those are only available for registered students. Everything else is freely available.

We hope you like it!
