Training Room

In preparation for the first formalized training program at UCI for reactor operators, the outer office has been reconfigured and optimized as our training room. This space, which in the early days of the reactor back in the late 1960s / 1970s, served as the reactor supervisor’s office and had slowly become a technical library and very underutilized.

Now it houses not only a proper whiteboard, projector / screen, and several desks, but it also houses rejected furniture that has rested in my office for about five years. Yes, it’s now home to the campus’s ugliest couch. We keep it covered most of the time, as it will probably cause blindness if viewed too much.
