Ivan Alvarado is a second-year medical student in the PRIME-LC program at UCI School of Medicine. His research interests include phage therapy and drug repurposing for difficult-to-treat bacterial infections. Before starting medical school, he received a Master of Science in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University and worked as a medical laboratory assistant in Microbiology at a community hospital in Los Angeles County. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and visiting local coffee shops.
