Medical Students
Successful medical students usually commit at least 1 year to the lab starting in their MS1 year and work full-time during the summer (between MS1 and MS2). Alternatively, medical students spend 1 year in the lab during a research gap year. We highly recommend that students participate in the UCI Medical Student Research Program (MSRP). Medical students accepted into the lab are encouraged to apply for competitive funding opportunities available through the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS), and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
