Bio
I am an Assistant Professor of Education Policy at the University of California, Irvine.
My research evaluates the impact of policies and factors that affect college access, educational attainment, and economic mobility using big data, field experiments, and surveys. In partnership with states, colleges, and non-profits, I design and implement resources and practices to improve education outcomes.
Recent research projects have been supported by external funders including AERA / the National Science Foundation, the Russell Sage Foundation, J-PAL North America, and the Spencer Foundation. In 2021, I was awarded the Association for Education Finance and Policy (AEFP) New Scholar Award.
I served as a White House Policy Advisor and U.S. Department of Education Presidential Management Fellow from 2014-2017.
I received my Ph.D. from Harvard University.
