October 25, 2020 by tnordenk

The Department of Epidemiology had a very strong representation this year with graduate students presenting their research at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) virtual conference in October.  ASHG is the world’s largest human genetics conference.

  • Kakati, Tulika, Bhattacharyya, D.K., Kalita, J.K., and Norden-Krichmar, T.M. “Classification of Differentially Expressed Genes using a Convolutional Neural Network” poster presentation at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) virtual conference, October 2020. (Note:  Tulika Kakati also received an ASHG Developing Country Award for this abstract, of which only 25 awards were given)
  • Listopad, Stanislav and Norden-Krichmar, T.M. “Comparison of Differential Expression, Information Gain, and Random Forest for Feature Selection with RNA sequencing data” poster presentation at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) virtual conference, October 2020.
  • Liu, Xiaochen, Liu, Z.-X., Morgan, T.R., and Norden-Krichmar, T.M. “Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals transcriptional heterogeneity of viral and alcohol-associated hepatitis” poster presentation at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) virtual conference, October 2020.
  • Lucia, Rachel M., Huang, W.-L., Alvarez, A., Masunaka, I., Ziogas, A., Goodman, D., Odegaard, A.O., Norden-Krichmar, T.M., and Park, H.L. “Epigenome-wide association study of mammographic density” poster presentation at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) virtual conference, October 2020.
  • Thangavelu, Chloe and Norden-Krichmar, T.M. “Meta-analysis of ATAC-seq data to explore chromatin accessibility during iPSC reprogramming” poster presentation at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) virtual conference, October 2020.
