The team travels to Advanced Light Source for Beamtime
The team, Prof. Zenyuk, Cliff, Hung-Ming and Jack travel to ALS in Berkeley in October 2022 to do x-ray CT imaging. We had several sleepless days but over 100 tests and many operando electrolyzer tests.
Prof. Zenyuk organizes Symposium for National Academy of Engineering, Frontiers of Engineering
Prof. Zenyuk, along with Prof. Jesse Jenkins, Princeton University organized symposium titled HYDROGEN: A NEW ‘UNIVERSAL’ ENERGY CARRIER FOR THE CARBON-FREE FUTURE? for Frontiers of Engineering (FOE) of National Academy of Engineering (NAE) taking place in Seattle, sponsored by Amazon. We have lined up four excellent speakers, including Ryan Jones, Evolved Energy Research, Neha Rustagi, […]
Prof. Zenyuk is a panelist for California Council on Science and Technology
Prof. Zenyuk was one of the panelists for “Decarbonizing Transportation with Hydrogen”. The recording are posted here: Decarbonizing Transportation with Hydrogen – YouTube
Prof. Zenyuk travels to Europe again
Prof. Zenyuk visited IRD Fuel Cells company near Copenhagen, Denmark and got a chance to see our alumni Dr. Andrea Perego. After that she was a keynote presented at Prof. Hubert Gasteiger group retreat for summer seminar for Chair of Technical Electrochemistry in Monte Isola, Italy. The discussions were fruitful and the location beautiful.
Prof. Zenyuk’s interview is featured by Society of Women Engineers
In an article “How About Hydrogen?” by Seabright McCabe https://magazine.swe.org/hydrogen/ Prof. Zenyuk discusses the role of hydrogen for decarbonization of heavy-duty and other sectors, as well as about clean hydrogen production using electrolysis. Excellent work Seabright!
Prof. Zenyuk delivers a keynote at an event in University of Calgary
Prof. Zenyuk travels to University of Calgary for CREATE and Use Hydrogen: Materials for Electrochemical Energy Solutions (NSERC CREATE ME2). It was a great meeting and a panel discussion on enabling hydrogen in Canada.
Congratulations to Dr. Devashish Kulkarni on Ph.D. defense.
Dr. Devashish Kulkarni spent with us 4 years and successfully defended today his Ph.D. thesis titled “Interfaces in Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Water Electrolyzers”. Devashish has been instrumental in developing x-ray computed tomography (CT) capabilities for operando imaging of fuel cells and electrolyzers on both nano- and micro-scale. His work shed light on understanding interfaces in […]
Our REU student Eric Boerner presents poster in 2022 Summer Research Program Symposium
Our REU student Eric Boerner, BS Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University did a great job on presenting his work on electrolyzers degradation. Thanks Cliff and Devashish for all the mentoring! We will miss you Eric.
Zenyuk group teaches COSMOS program
For the past few weeks, researchers in the Zenyuk group have been helping teach COSMOS students in the sustainable aviation cluster. Currently, aviation contributes 2.5% of CO2 emissions (of which 20% stay in the atmosphere for thousands of years), with a single long haul flight generating as much CO2 as one person does in an […]
