We are a diverse team of chemical, mechanical engineers, material scientists, chemists and physicists that aim to resolve one of the most important problems of the 21st century, namely decarbonization of the energy sector and chemical manufacturing. Our team works on technologies that span electrochemical energy conversion and storage. We believe that to reach net-zero emissions society by 2050 we need to have a portfolio of clean solutions that work across various applications, time and length scales. Hydrogen technologies will play a big role in the economy transformation, as direct electrification can only decarbonize limited number of sectors. Chemical manufacturing, cement, steel, shipping, aviation will all will require different solutions and hydrogen will be one of the key solutions for these historically difficult to decarbonize sectors.

Our team works on fundamental and applied problems to advance H2 economy and energy storage (batteries). Our projects require significant team work. We travel to synchrotrons to collect x-ray imaging and spectroscopy on operating batteries, fuel cells and electrolyzers. Our team is diverse and multidisciplinary and composes ranks for highschool students to research scientists.

We are always looking for talented students to join the group!
