“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”

I once asked a dear cancer survivor and patient advocate how she coped so courageously. She replied with that saying “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.” And when I moved to a new laboratory, she made and gave me the “Dr. Yong’s Lemonade Lab” placard above. Our lab uses neuropathology, biobanking, and computational pathology approaches to help make lemonade- specifically to understand the brain and nervous system disorders. We publish on diagnostic neuropathology but also support a range of research programs in Down Syndrome, Alzheimer Disease, NeuroAIDS, brain tumors, and the Brain Initiative Cell Atlas Network (BICAN).
