Katie Cox and I are pleased to share Teaching Together: A Handbook for Faculty and TAs. Download the handbook here.
This handbook shares the insights and resources developed through the Teaching Together Learning Community, which targeted instructors and TAs of social science courses with large lectures and TA-led discussion sections. It was produced with support from the UCI Provost’s Teaching Fellowship, the School of Social Sciences, and the Department of Anthropology.
The resources presented in this handbook are intended to strengthen collaboration between Social Science faculty and TAs, better integrate discussion sections into course design, improve undergraduate learning in our large lecture courses, and foster graduate student professional development. While the resources are primarily directed toward individual faculty-TA teaching teams, we also include recommendations that can strengthen institutional support to better achieve these goals.
