Professor Dollar has been appointed to be a member of the committee to author the Assessment of High Energy Density (HED) Physics by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. High energy density (HED) physics has critical applications in areas such as inertial confinement fusion and the stewardship of the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile. Congress has requested that the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine conduct an assessment of HED physics research in the United States. The assessment will identify key challenges and science questions and propose ways to address them in the coming decade. The committee is composed of experts in the field.
