The supplemental video to the left (created in R with the rgl package) maps how highly-cited scientists describe emotional aspects of scientific discovery across six diverse disciplines.  See the published article for a detailed description of our procedure and findings.  This video allows us to view Figure 2 and 3 from the article simultaneously.  Beginning with Figure 2, the video spins on the third axis. Around the 10 second mark, we see how Subject Matter moves towards the top of the graph, pulling Plant & Animal Science, Clinical Medicine and Psychology & Psychiatry—the sciences that study living organisms—away from the other sciences (as shown in Figure 3).
