The Environmental Chemistry & Technology Laboratory (EC&TL) is an interdisciplinary research group primarily focused on improving environmental health. We achieve this goal by investigating the interactions, fate, and effects of contaminants in the urban environment. We also seek to develop advanced materials for treating complex waste streams and remediating the environment. We perform field studies, laboratory experiments, as well as modeling, using expertise from environmental engineering, chemistry, nanotechnology, and biology.
