Naomi passes her prelim exam!
Congrats to Naomi (2nd year PhD student in the EC&T Lab) for passing her prelim examination on Friday, November 18th, 2022! Naomi’s PhD research will focus on treatment of media contaminated with PFAS.
Prof Adeleye named 2022 SNO Emerging Investigator Award
Prof. Adeyemi Adeleye was recently awarded the 2022 Emerging Investigator Award by the Sustainable Nanotechnology Organization (SNO) during the 11th SNO Annual Conference at Austin, TX. The SNO Emerging Investigator designation gives international recognition to emerging scientists and engineers working in the area of sustainable nanotechnology. The Awardee must be within their first 10 years post Ph.D., and have an impactful body of independent work and publications in the area of sustainable nanotechnology. See more information here.
New paper accepted
A study in which we investigated the suitability of five container materials for six PFAS (as individual and mixed solutions) has bee accepted for publication in the Journal of Hazardous Materials Advances. The study was led by Dr. Jenny Zenobio (former Postdoctoral Researcher) with contributions from Omobayo Salawu (PhD Candidate) and Ziwei Han (PhD Candidate). The paper is titled Adsorption of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) to containers.

Bayo passes his qualifying exam
Congrats to Bayo for passing his qualifying examination on Thursday, November 18th, 2021! Bayo’s research focuses on the sources and fate of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in the sewerage system.
