Terry Lopez, PhD candidate, presents two posters at the 12th Annual Scripps Natural Supplements Conference held from January 15, 2015-January 18, 2015. In the exhibit, Lopez showcased how Rhodiola rosea increases fruit fly lifespan, independent of dietary carbohydrate content. In addition, she also presented how green tea adversely impacts male fruit fly reproduction, winning her second place in the exhibit. Both of these studies provide larger implications for human lifespan as the pathways examined are highly conserved between species.
