Nellie is a UCI alum and received her BS in 2021 in Developmental & Cell Biology and Cognitive Sciences. She is a student in the Medical Scientist Training Program and completed her first year of med school before starting her PhD in 2023. As a grad student in the Swarup and Green labs, she is interested in exploring the effects of diet, sex, and inflammation on neurodegenerative diseases using multi-omics approaches. Outside of the lab, Nellie loves trying new foods with her husband, listening to jazz music, singing, crocheting, and cuddling with her three cats and Great Dane.
