Emily completed her undergraduate degree at Seattle University in Cell and Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry, graduating in 2019. She then went to the University of California, Riverside in 2020 for her PhD in Biomedical Sciences. She studied the role astrocyte and neuron communication during Toxoplasma gondii infection through the use of extracellular vesicles and graduated in 2024. She joined the Green lab in 2025 as a postdoc, focusing on the effects of whole body irradiation and bone marrow transplant in Alzheimer’s disease mice. When not in lab Emily enjoys reading, going to concerts, try new restaurants, taking photos of nature, and going to the beach.
