Angela graduated from Pablo de Olavide University (Seville, Spain) in 2012 with a BA in Biotechnology. She then obtained her MS in Cellular and Molecular Biology at University of Malaga (Malaga, Spain) in 2013. While at University of Malaga, Angela started her research on Alzheimer’s Disease and graduated in early 2018 with a PhD in Neurosciences. She then joined UC Irvine at the beginning of 2020 (just before the Covid-19 pandemic!) to continue her research on Alzheimer’s Disease, trying to better understand the role of the complement system in synaptic pruning and Alzheimer’s. In 2022, she also joined MODEL-AD, with the objective to develop the next generation of mouse models to study late-onset Alzheimer’s Disease. When she is away from the lab, Angela loves to go camping, play cards and board games, discover new restaurants/breweries with her friends and spend as much time as possible with Bali (her cute doggy).
